It’s interesting how we can walk through old haunts and recall our past selves forging their way through the very same terrain.
Our minds swirl with flashbacks and our hearts fill again reminding us of how “empty” we let them get at times.
Are they ever truly “empty” though?
I think sometimes we can feel like they are but that’s never the case. These memories that come up as we move forward in life and grow remind us that they’re still there. They’re still in our hearts living on like a burning eternal flame. They’re gentle though, they know when to show face and when to sit back in the shadows.
