I was just watching an interview with Black Veil Bride’s Andy Biersack and it was really cool what they were talking about. At one point one of them said “If you’re just gonna copy what’s the point in doing this?” And I think that’s so incredibly valid in today’s world creatively. Not JUST with the music industry like they were talking about but like with everything. It’s sad that so many people try to copy others instead of actually going for it themselves. Like if you wanna be in a creative world/space then fucking do that! Speak and express from your heART it is yours alone no one else. You are so incredibly unique don’t be afraid to let other people see how you shine! Don’t try to steal others spark and PRETEND that it’s yours cause that just ain’t the way man. You’ll never be truly happy that way. You’ve gotta find YOU. No body else is gonna do it for you. If you haven’t found yourself yet then maybe hold off on creating things cause creation requires you to be so deeply in tune with your heart and mind to express your very essence.
I came back to this post cause Andy just said “The artist is artless” and holyyyy shit man! That is a STATEMENT! I love that and wanted to include it so I can remember later on too. I’m glad I chose to watch this interview today. It’s been insightful and like really got me thinking about some deep themes.🎸
